Custom Indoor Playground
A custom indoor playground starts with your venue, not our catalog.
Send us your dimensions and a few venue details, and our design team works out a personalized equipment mix, theme, and layout — not a generic package resized to look bespoke.

Custom-Built for Your Space
No two venues are the same. Our design team works from your floor plan, budget, and target age group to build a playground that fits your space exactly.
Every custom project includes 3D design review, material selection, and on-site installation support.

1 — the foundation of the design
Venue Information Comes First
Nothing about a personalized indoor playground design — equipment sizing, layout, or the 3D render — can be finalized until we have your actual venue data. This is the first thing our design team asks for, before theme or budget conversations begin.
With this data, we can plan traffic flow, maximize usable space, keep safety clearances correct, and produce a 3D render that matches your actual venue — not an approximation.
2 — what kind of space this is
Project Type
No two indoor playground businesses operate the same way, and project type drives most of the decisions that follow — ceiling clearance, how much soft play flooring is needed versus structural equipment, and how durable the materials need to be for daily footfall.
A shopping mall attraction built to draw foot traffic looks nothing like a kindergarten soft play room built around naptime safety, even though both fall under "indoor playground." Tell us which category below is the closest match, and we'll use it as the starting point for equipment selection and layout.

3 — who the space is designed for
Target Age Group
More than theme or budget, the age range you're designing for determines which equipment is appropriate, how safety clearances get calculated, and how heavily surfaces and structures need to be padded.
A zone built for toddlers prioritizes soft, low-impact crawling and sensory play; a zone for older kids can carry taller slides and more physically demanding structures. Most commercial venues serve more than one bracket at once, so let us know the full range you expect — we'll zone the custom indoor playground layout accordingly.

0–3 Toddlers
Best suited to soft crawling zones, small slides, sensory soft play equipment, and interactive ball pit corners that keep movement close to the ground.
3–6 Preschool
Ready for full soft play sets, climbing structures, soft obstacle courses, and tunnel slides that build coordination and confidence.
6–12 Older Kids
Suited to tall slides, ninja course elements, climbing walls, and other challenge-based equipment built for more physical, independent play.

4 — visual direction
Theme & Style
A consistent theme is one of the fastest ways to raise the commercial appeal of an indoor playground — it drives social media traction, gives the venue a distinct visual identity, and makes the space read as considerably more premium than an assortment of generic slides and climbers.
Pick one of the established directions below, or brief our design team on something entirely original: a mascot, an existing brand identity, or a concept unique to your local market.

5 — what it shapes
Budget Range
Budget doesn't just set a ceiling — it determines equipment count, material grade, and how much custom detail goes into the build.
The three tiers below reflect the price points we see most often among PlayCurator's custom indoor playground clients. Sharing a range early keeps the design proposal realistic from the first draft, rather than something that needs to be renegotiated after the render is already in your hands.

Economy Build
A functional layout built with a standard equipment count, standard material grade, and simple, non-custom shapes — no lighting effects, no premium decoration.
Standard Custom Build
The build most of our clients land on: an expanded equipment mix, custom-shaped structures, a handful of interactive devices, and basic LED lighting effects layered into the theme.
Flagship Build
A flagship build with a large-format anchor slide, a full interactive device system, premium theme decoration, and custom IP character design worked into the structure itself.
Not sure which tier fits your project? Tell us your budget range and we'll recommend a build.
6 — building blocks of the layout
Equipment Preferences
Equipment selection is where most of the personality of a custom indoor playground comes from — the difference between a volcano slide and a tube slide, or a spider tower and a rope bridge, changes both the visual impact and the physical challenge on offer.
The more specific you can be here, the faster we can turn around an accurate layout. A general idea works too — our team can propose a personalized equipment mix based on your venue, age group, and budget.

7 — beyond the play area
Functional Zones
Most commercial venues need more than play equipment to function day to day. A birthday party room drives repeat bookings, a parent waiting area keeps adults comfortable and visible to their kids, and a reception desk shapes the first impression before anyone reaches the play area itself.
Let us know which supporting zones belong in your layout, and we'll plan the square footage around them alongside the play equipment.

Toddler Zone
A separated, low-impact area for the youngest visitors.
Birthday Party Room
A bookable space that drives repeat visits and revenue.
Parent Waiting Area
Seating with clear sightlines into the play area.
Café Area
Adds a secondary revenue stream to the venue.
Reception Area
Sets the first impression and manages entry flow.
Climbing Zone
A higher-energy area separated from toddler play.
Arcade Area
Extends dwell time for older siblings and teens.
Educational Area
Interactive learning elements for schools and daycares.
Tell us which zones you need and we'll work out the square footage.
8 — safety compliance
Safety Standards & Certification
Safety requirements vary considerably by destination market, and retrofitting a build to meet a standard after production is far more costly than designing to it from the start.
Let us know which regulation applies to your project — often based on where the venue is located rather than where you're purchasing from — so it's factored into material selection and structural design from day one.

Standard products are already certified to CE, CPC, EN71, and EN14960. If your project needs a specific certification beyond these — including the standards above — we arrange additional third-party lab testing on your production unit, billed at cost and scheduled alongside production.

9 — brand identity
Branding & Custom Details
Beyond the base design, most commercial custom indoor playground projects add brand-specific touches that turn a well-built play space into a recognizably branded one.
None of these are required, but each one strengthens how the finished venue reads to visitors and how well it photographs for marketing and social media.

Installation & After-Sales Support
Support doesn't stop once the design is confirmed and production begins.
From here through opening day, the same team stays involved — producing final renders, documenting installation, and staying reachable while your crew (or ours) puts the playground together on site.

how the space will run
Designed Around Your Operating Model
The same equipment list can be arranged two very different ways depending on how you plan to run the venue. A mall attraction optimizes for foot traffic and "photo spot" appeal; a kindergarten room optimizes for safety and supervision.
Telling us your operating model upfront changes what the design prioritizes long before the first render is drawn.

Shopping Mall Playground
Prioritizes high visual impact to draw foot traffic, strong "photo spot" appeal for social sharing, and materials durable enough for continuous daily use.
Kindergarten Play Area
Prioritizes safety above all else, with educational and interactive elements built into fully soft-protected surfaces suitable for very young children.
Family Entertainment Center
Prioritizes large capacity for peak hours, a multi-zone and multi-function layout, and equipment that holds attention through longer play sessions.
Restaurant Kids Zone
Prioritizes a compact, space-efficient footprint, low-maintenance materials, and clear sightlines so parents can watch their kids from nearby tables.
See how these priorities play out in real venues, or tell us your operating model directly.

Why We Ask for All of This Upfront
A complete brief at the start of a project consistently leads to a better outcome at the end of it — a personalized indoor playground that matches the original proposal, not a compromise negotiated midway through production. Vague requests still get a response, but they tend to cost more back-and-forth before the design settles.
- Faster, more accurate design turnaround
- Quotes that hold up without later revisions
- Fewer change requests once production starts
- A finished space that matches what was proposed
